Used two different batches of paste for design; the first batch used (for curved lines at bottom) was the MDH® green colored batch made last week (as used for 01/30 Stephanie, 01/31 MaryJo, 02/01 Self, and 02/06 Stephanie) and refrigerated in a sealed cone, and the second batch (for spiral at top) was the Zaiqa Foods® brown colored batch made approximately 47 hours ago (same batch as used on 02/05 Self, 02/06 MaryJo, and 02/06 Stephanie).
02/07/2001, 5ish am, began application with plastic cone. Allowed to dry and dabbed with lemon juice/sugar mixture. After drying, design area covered with liquid latex. When that was dry, it was covered with a single layer of gauze which was taped down. Forgot to take photograph (again!). Went to bed.
02/07/2001, 1:30 pm, removed gauze and latex after getting up; the latex worked well, protecting the design and keeping it stuck on skin. When pulled off, it also removed most of the henna as well, making the "scrape-it-off" job loads easier. Also note that the design done with the older henna (which was the fresher paste) was darker than the design done with the really good henna (which had been mixed about a week ago).
